First Super appoints Tim Kennedy CEO
First Super is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Kennedy as its new Chief Executive Officer, commencing on the 5th of October 2026.
Tim steps into the role currently filled in the interim by Greg Everett, following the resignation of CEO Bill Watson in early January.
First Super’s Co-Chair Denise Campbell-Burns welcomed the appointment of Tim Kennedy, saying his decades long involvement in superannuation and strong focus on member’s best interest was a very good fit for First Super.

Tim Kennedy has been heavily involved in industry superannuation through his national leadership of the United Workers Union and its forerunner the National Union of Workers.
He was Chair, Deputy Chair and a Director of industry fund LUCRF Super between 2004 and 2022, serving on the Investment Committee for over a decade and chairing the Audit and Risk Committee.
He has held directorships with a variety of significant government, civil society and finance industry organisations and has tertiary qualifications in law and international relations.
