Scott McDine appointed to First Super Board

September 6th, 2017

First Super has appointed Scott McDine as an employee representative on its Board.

Mr McDine’s appointment was effective from 1 September.

He replaces outgoing Director, Dave Kirner, as an employee representative.

Mr McDine is a former director of Australian Super, Cbus, a former executive member of the ACTU, and former National Secretary of the Australian Workers Union.

First Super CEO Bill Watson said Scott McDine has extensive experience in serving the interests of members on super fund boards.

“Scott McDine has devoted his life to advocating for working people, not only through national union leadership but other representative bodies that represent workers’ interests.

“With many years’ prior experience on other Industry Super Fund boards, Scott will be an extremely valuable addition to our Board.

“Scott’s appointment will bring perspectives outside of our own industry and help broaden the skill and diversity of our Board.”

Mr Watson thanked outgoing Director Dave Kirner for his years of service to the Fund and its members.

As an Industry Super Fund, First Super is governed by a Board with an equal number of employer and employee representatives.
