KiwiSaver transfer process

How to transfer your KiwiSaver to First Super

First, join First Super online, which will take about 5 minutes.

When you join online, you’ll be given a member and account number. You will then need to:

  • contact us and request a KiwiSaver Acceptance Letter (KSAL)
  • provide us with your First Super member number
  • give us details of your KiwiSaver fund (name and address).

Once we have this information, we can provide you with a KSAL, which you will need for the KiwiSaver transfer process.

The process of transferring your KiwiSaver over to First Super will differ depending on your KiwiSaver Fund.

ANZ KiwiSaver and Booster KiwiSaver

Step 1

Join First Super online and receive your member number
(takes 5 mins)

Step 2

Contact us with:
  • Your First Super member number
  • your KiwiSaver fund details (name and address)
  • request a First Super KiwiSaver Acceptance Letter (KSAL).

Step 3

Contact your KiwiSaver Fund and:
  • request Trans-Tasman Portability form forms (note the form may be called something else)
  • complete the forms and send to First Super.

Step 4

First Super will complete and sign forms and send onto your KiwiSaver Fund.
Your KiwiSaver will process the forms.*

Step 5

First Super will send you confirmation when we receive the KiwiSaver funds.

 

The transfer process takes 4–6 weeks. 

*We recommend you follow up with your KiwiSaver fund to confirm they have all the correct documents. 

All other KiwiSaver funds

Step 1

Join First Super online and receive your member number
(takes 5 mins).

Step 2

Contact us with:
  • Your First Super member number
  • your KiwiSaver fund details (name and address)
  • request a First Super KiwiSaver Acceptance Letter (KSAL).

Step 3

Contact your KiwiSaver Fund and:
  • Request Trans-Tasman Portability form forms (note the form may be called something else
  • complete the forms
  • send all forms, supporting documentation and First Super’s KSAL back to your KiwiSaver fund.

Step 4

We recommend you contact your KiwiSaver fund to ensure they have everything they need in order to process your KiwiSaver Transfer.

Step 5

First Super will send you confirmation when we receive the KiwiSaver funds.

 

 

KiwiSaver Trans-Tasman Portability forms

It’s important to note that your KiwiSaver fund may call this form something else, such as a Permanent Emigration Transfer Request form. Usually, the form requires you add some or all of the following information:

  • Provider name: First Super
  • Postal address: First Super, PO BOX 666, Carlton South, VIC 3053
  • Email: mail@firstsuper.com.au
  • Phone: 1300 360 988 / +613 8663 2110
  • ABN: 56 286 625 181
  • SPIN & USI: FIS0001AU
  • Your First Super account number
  • Your First Super member number
  • First Super’s bank details can be found on the KSAL.

Remember to send all completed forms, supporting documentation and KSAL to your KiwiSaver fund. We recommend you contact them a day or two later to check that they have all the information they need in order to process the KiwiSaver transfer.

NOTE: Once you have transferred your KiwiSaver to an Australian KiwiSaver accepting fund such as First Super, your KiwiSaver funds cannot then be rolled out to an SMSF or to a non-KiwiSaver participating APRA super fund.
