Stay alert to super scammers

August 24th, 2020

Corporate regulator ASIC is reporting that fraudsters posing as its representatives are contacting super fund members and offering to help them consolidate super accounts. ASIC is urging Australians to be wary and to never provide personal or banking details in response to unsolicited calls and emails.

How to know it’s a scam

ASIC will never call members to consolidate super, and it doesn’t allow others to use its logo or its employees’ names to push financial products or services.

Visit the ASIC news hub for more information about this scam.

Protect your workforce

One of the most effective ways to avoid scams is to stay alert – and to alert others.

That’s why we regularly share articles about scams with our employers, and why we’d encourage you to pass this information along to your workers or colleagues.

What to do if you’re targeted

If you or someone you know is the victim of a super-related scam, make sure to report the misconduct to ASIC and contact the police.
