In most cases you don’t have to change super funds if you change jobs. Generally you can tell your new employer to pay your super to First Super if:
-
Your super is paid under a federal award or a national agreement preserving state award (most CFMEU members), or
-
You’re employed under an award or agreement that doesn’t mention super, or
-
You’re not employed under any award or industrial agreement at all.
This is called choice of fund.
If you’re not sure whether you're eligible to change your super fund, contact us on 1300 360 988.
I want my super payments made to my First Super account
If you change jobs and want your super contributions paid to First Super, you'll need to complete a Standard Choice Form. Your employer should give you the form within 28 days of starting your new job or you can download it from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) website. You can also complete it online on the ATO website.
If you’re unsure how to fill in the Standard Choice form contact us on:

Remember, you can still keep your account with First Super even if you can’t have new contributions paid into it. You may want to do this to preserve insurance cover, and to roll your other super into First Super when you change jobs in the future.
